Study on Construction Technology for Tunnelling in the Plateau Permafrost Region
The tunnel in the Plateau Permafrost Region has many difficulties to construct, for there are chilly climate and plateau condition, frozen soils, absence of oxygen, frost heaving in frozen soils. How to overcome these difficulties is the key technology for tunnelling in the permafrost region. This paper discussed the key construction techniques of the Fenghuoshan tunnel, which have been successfully constructed. It includes a heat insulation layer between the lining and initial supporting of the tunnel, an intact waterproof and drainage system, and special construction technique for concrete at low temperature to alleviate the frost damage.
