Research on the Pavement Performance and Mechanism of Rock Asphalt Modified Asphalt Mixture
This paper studied the performance of high ash rock bitumen (BRA) modified asphalt mixture. To investigate the change of the properties of asphalt mixture subjected to the modification of BRA, test on the pavement performance of the BRA modified asphalt mixture with different BRA substitution ratio under the condition of powder to rubber ratio 1.2 were carried out. The test results and analysis indicate that with the increase of the BRA replacement ratio, the high temperature performance and water stability of the mixture are significantly improved, and the low temperature crack resistance performance increases slightly. The optimal replacement ratio of BRA is 75%. The mechanism of BRA modification was analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and fluorescence microscopy. The results showed that BRA can modify the interface of asphalt cement, improve the thermal storage stability of asphalt cement, and increase the adhesion between asphalt cement and aggregate.
