Asphalt Pavement Statistical Temperature Prediction Models Developed from Measured Data in China
The temperature distributions in asphalt pavement have a great effect upon the bearing capacity and performance of asphalt pavement. The Transportation Engineering School of Tongji University started comparative research about 5 years ago. Thermal sensors were installed in several pavement sections in different regions to monitor the temperature fluctuation inside the pavement structure. Based on data from this research program and related weather information, the application of SHRP and LTPP pavement temperature prediction model in China is verified. Then statistical temperature prediction models established through regression analysis are introduced in detail. Compared with the other existing prediction models, the models show comprehensive applicability and excellent accuracy.
