A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
The familiar concepts of slope and deflection are presented as a means of analyzing continuous beams and rigid frames for the evolution of plastic hinges and subsequent failure under static loadings. The presentation may be considered an argument in behalf of limit design in that the necessary relationship between lo ad and deflection is demonstrated.
