A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Libraries are no longer the hushed, imposing, monolithic repositories of all things printed that they once were. In cities and on campuses, the modern library has become an open, inviting, and dynamic community resource, offering residents and students a place to learn from a variety of sources, engage their peers, and interact with their surroundings. The grand new library at Grand Valley State University, in western Michigan, is a case in point.
