Long-Term Creep Properties of Cementitious Materials - Comparing Compression Tests on Concrete with Microindentation Tests on Cement
This study compares minutes-long microindentation creep experiments on cement paste with years-long macroscopic creep experiments on concrete. For both cement and concrete samples, after a transient period their creep function was well captured by a logarithmic function of time. The creep modulus of various concrete samples was estimated from microindentation tests on cement pastes combined with micromechanical model. The estimated moduli were very close to those calculated directly from uniaxial compressive creep tests on concrete, which proves that minutes-long microindentation creep test can give access to the long-term creep properties of concrete.
