Basic Information Needed for a Regional Plan
As the concentration in cities has increased and the size and complexity of the individual city have grown beyond anything that could have been foreseen a few years ago, it is only natural that the scope of planning has also increased. Starting with a concentration on the civic center, planners enlarged their activities to the comprehensive city plan; then they studied the environs and grouped together two or more closely related communities in the regional plan. The State of New York has made studies for a State-wide plan and articles have been written in regard to a National plan. The writer has been asked to describe the type of material that should be assembled as a basis for determining the elements of a regional plan.
