Surveying Monuments, Control Staking, and the Settlement Monitoring Needed during Construction
Complete, accurate, and thorough surveys were performed during design allowing the design engineers to produce a quality set of contract documents, the construction manager and contractor will need surveying monuments and control staking to manage, inspect, and construct the infrastructure project. Monitoring settlement in adjacent utilities or structures can also be required. This paper will present the level of surveying accuracy and the amount of surveying information needed for the construction team to complete construction on-time, within budget limits and the specified level of quality. In addition, this paper will provide the reader and audience with actual case studies of project successes and lessons learned to help them improve future construction project delivery.
