Mass-Concrete Operations in the Rocky Mountains
Mass-concrete operations are conducted in a plant that is equipped with a primary crusher arrangement, an aggregate screening plant, a concrete batching plant, and a shuttle and cableway system. The particular plant under consideration is situated high in the Rocky Mountains adjacent to Boulder Creek Canyon at El. 7300, approximately 30 miles from Denver, Colo. The over-all arrangement was selected and designed with the primary objective being the establishment of an efficient and economical cableway operation. Considerable difficulties arose in locating the plant and its equipment and access roads because of the hazardous mountain slopes and high wind velocities that were encountered.
