Indian water rights are becoming ever more important in water resources planning. A brief history of Indian water rights litigation is presented along with an analysis and interpretation of the importance of each case. Idaho Indian water rights are also discussed, centering on the Shoshone-Bannock tribes at Fort Hall in southeastern Idaho.
