Summer Strategy for Stormwater Treatment in the Puget Sound Watershed
This paper considers a new concept for sizing stormwater treatment facilities. The concept recognizes that the water quality of streams is more critical during summer than winter. It follows that stormwater treatment systems should be sized based on the characteristics of summer storms rather than average annual storms. The approach is under consideration by LOTT, the communities of Lacey, Olympia, and Tumwater, and Thurston County, Washington.
