Vertical Circulation in Density-Stratified Reservoir
The paper presents a mathematical model of vertical circulation in density-stratified reservoirs. An analytical solution of the formation of circulation regions is presented. The solutions includes two shapes of reservoirs, rectangular and semi-infinite strip, inflow-outflow exchange and wind action. The method allows to take into account additional horizontal water density changes in the reservoir which appear to be significant in calculating the extent of the circulation region.
