The Planning of the Industrial City of Longview, Washington
“City Planning”, a term applied to the orderly.physical development of a community, would in most cases be more properly classed as “City Re-Planning”. The opportunity of planning a complete new city of any great extent on undeveloped land seldom presents itself. The planning of Longview, Wash., was perhaps the largest project of this kind since the planning of the National Capitol by L'Enfant under President Washington, and involved some pioneering in the field of city planning.
