Bridges in Urban and Metropolitan Areas
The bridges presented in this paper illustrate an open view of bridge engineering design. The design process of bridges should be open, flexible and sometimes sympathetic to the parameters and circumstances that escape from the objective world. This can be done through an exhaustive knowledge of the resistance language and the exploration of plastic forms. The exploration and use of new/advanced materials in structural engineering constitutes a metaphor to the innovation and a vindication of the enormous value of engineering as an impelling element of the development and progress of the society.
