Numerical Prediction of Bottom Topographical Change around Coastal Structures Using Quasi-3D Nearshore Current Model
This paper presents a numerical model for predicting the bottom topographical changes around coastal structures using quasi-3D nearshore current model. The present model is abbreviated as Q3D-ISE (Initial Sedimentation/Erosion) model. The computations of the present model don't feed back into the computation of hydrodynamics and sediment transport. First, in order to calibrate and verify the present model, the computed results were compared with the results of movable bed laboratory tests with the detached breakwater. Secondly, the applicability of the present Q3D-ISE model to nearhshore currents and bottom topographical change under storm in the field was investigated. Finally, the applicability of the present model was discussed and the availability of the present model was confirmed.
