Today's Engineer and Tomorrow's Metropolitan Problems
The trend toward urbanization is continuing at a fast pace in the United States. However, the growth of large metropolitan areas creates problems for the central city as well as for the suburbs that depend on it. This paper lists and discusses these problems from the standpoint of the central city. Several solutions are offered, and examples are given of successful experiments in urban cooperation.
