A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Despite its slender, aerodynamic design, the new Terminal 3 at Beijing Capital International Airport is considered the largest building in the world, enclosing a floor space of approximately 1.3 million m2. It is also one of the most rapidly constructed airport terminals in modern times, designed and built in just over four years so that it could serve as China’s aerial gateway to the 2008 Summer Olympics.
