Approach of Masonry School Building Seismic Collapses in the Wenchuan Earthquake
Large number of school teaching buildings was damaged in the 5.12 Wenchuan earthquake, so it is undoubtedly imperative to approach the mechanism of the seismic collapses of the school buildings. This article has carried out qualitative analysis on the masonry school buildings, and advised that the key component in the structure coinciding with the vulnerable component is an important reason for the collapse of the structure. Some solutions were also introduced.
