Community and Neighborhood Development
With West Palm Beach, Fla., as an example, it is shown how an existing city can be expanded and improved in a logical manner. This expansion is facilitated by the development of neighborhoods–the basic units of urban life. The requirements for a residential neighborhood are reviewed; how an old area can be improved with in its existing framework is shown. Existing planned communities are cited; the experience gained from their planning was used as a basis for the plan to improve West Palm Beach.
