Background to the Structural Wind Engineering Committee
The Technical Council on Wind Engineering (TCWE) was created in January 2007 with the approval of TAC. It combines the Aerodynamics Committee within the Aerospace Division with the Wind Effects Committee within the Structural Engineering Institute. This process was initiated by members of these wind-engineering committees during informal discussions within ASCE two years earlier, and was confirmed as a desire of both committees in a vote of all the committee members at the Structures Congress held at Saint Louis in May 2006.
