Consistent Approximations in Shell Theory
For shells of arbitrary form, the essential properties of the different types of homogeneous stress states are presented. The combination of these particular solutions, capable of satisfying boundary conditions fixing the contour forces, is determined. Applications to problems for spherical caps are made.
