Structural Condition Assessment of Stadiums and Arenas
Conventional building assessment techniques, points of interest and areas of focus are applicable to sports facilities, but covered in other papers in this conference proceedings. This paper highlights some building aspects unique to sports facilities to understand design intent, critical elements, locations likely to exhibit distress, and observed behaviors. Discussion proceeds from roof down to show how loads are imposed, collected and delivered to supports.
