Spheroidal Shaped Rupture Surfaces for Undrained Soils Planar Slope Stability
As recently presented by the author, to find out the critical rupture surface for 2D circular-shaped rupture surfaces linear slope stability in homogeneous undrained Soils, another Hessian maxima solution is now proposed for the 3D case ( i.e. considering spheroid ellipsoidal, with the semi - axes parameters a = b, shaped rupture Surfaces). While the 2D case was depending upon undrained Cohesion Cu and on the centre angle of the circular surfaces, in the 3D case we will have the dependence again on Cu and but also on another ellipsoid geometric parameter. This geometric solution is indeed fully developed and permit to immediately evaluate the 3 D typical 3D hollow type landslide critical behavior.
