An outline is given of surveys made in the Willamette Valley preliminary to the special surveys at Cougar Reservoir and Dam Site. Factors which must be considered in large scale photogrammetric mapping of precipitous high relief areas are presented and how these problems were resolved using projector type stereoplotting equipment.
