This paper will provide engineers with an overview of the technical aspects of standing seam roof design. Guidelines for the proper specification of standing seam roof systems will be presented. Applicable test procedures will be discussed, including those required by the building code to determine wind uplift capacity and to determine the lateral support provided to purlins.
