Abstract

A proposed supplement to ASCE/SEI 41 Seismic Rehabilitation of Existing Buildings has been developed for the purpose of updating provisions related to existing reinforced concrete buildings. The proposed revisions are primarily based on new research presented at an EERI/PEER technical seminar series titled, "New Information on the Seismic Performance of Existing Concrete Buildings." The proposed supplement includes revisions to modeling parameters and acceptance criteria for reinforced concrete columns, structural walls, beam-column joints, and slab-column moment frames. A summary and discussion of the proposed supplement revisions is presented.
