Vibrations of Linearly Tapered Cantilever Beams
The natural frequencies and mode shapes of the first three modes of vibration of tapered cantilever beams are presented for twelve different tapers. Tables of displacements and first and second derivatives of displacements are given as determined by means of a digital computer for Bernoulli-Euler beams. An examination is made of the accuracy of the results. Tables and graphs given will suffice to determine the mode shapes and frequencies of all linearly tapered cantilever beams with an accuracy adequate for practical purposes.
