The public has become more critical, and what was once satisfactory is no longer accepted as good ventilation. The accidental stoppage, at an intermediate point in a tunnel, of trains equipped with either steam or electrical power, has shown the importance of the frequent, complete and positive change of air in every part of a subway or tunnel.
