The Design Of Jet Grouting From Concept To Execution
This paper describes the process whereby jet grouting design is progressed from an initial concept through detailed design and finally execution. It is important to understand the derivation of each stage of the design and which party is responsible to allow for any problems to be remedied. Because jet grouting is inherently a combination of discrete columns bonded together, it is inevitable that at detailed design stage careful consideration needs to be given to the effect of construction tolerances on the design to ensure that the design is practicable. The aim of this paper is to show that the design of ground treatment requires careful consideration over a number of stages and also requires the input of statistical and other methods to ensure that the field execution delivers the design performance.
