Fifty-Year Advancement in Concrete Bridge Construction
Fifty-year advancement in concrete bridge construction is described. Most important is the development of prestressed concrete bridges and the various equipment necessary for production and erection. Either new span records or new types have been constructed, including continuous girders, arches, rigid frames, cantilevers, suspension, and cable-stayed layouts. Selected structures are illustrated with photographs.
