New North Parallel Runway 8L-26R at Bush Intercontinental Airport of Houston
This new North Parallel Runway complex costs approximately $300 million, including land acquisition of 1,500 acres costing approximately $100 million. This runway 8L-26R is 5000 feet north of the existing Runway 8R-26L in order to facilitate simultaneous landings on both runways. This runway will be 9000 feet long by 150 feet wide with 35-foot wide shoulders on each side. This runway will have an ILS category III on both ends.
