Hydraulics of Slope Erosion by Overland Flow
General equations of soil erosion by rainfall and overland flow are analytically derived by using equations of motion and continuity for sediment transport, dynamic and continuity equations for spatially varied flow with rainfall, and equations of boundary shear stress subject to rainfall. Computational equations for predicting soil erosion rates are developed from the general equations obtained. To demonstrate the applicability of computational equations, computed results are compared with previously published data on soil erosion.
