A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
The layout and arrangement of terminal stations, as well as of all other railroad stations, have in view either the handling of passengers or the handling of freight. The latter requires installations which simplify and facilitate loading and unloading, while the handling of passengers requires chiefly arrangements which admit of the reduction of the headway of arriving and departing trains.
