Loess Plateau Side Slope Laying Stability Calculation and Analysis of Shaanxi-Beijing Gas Pipeline
Since floods and geological disasters occur frequently in the Loess Plateau, oil and gas pipeline projects are vulnerable to the threat of many disasters (including floods, landslides, and collapse) which seriously affect the safe operation of pipelines. In this paper, the simplified Bishop method and the slope stability calculation program "STAB-95" from the Beijing Hydraulic Research Institute are applied to conduct stability calculations of the loess natural slopes and artificial fill slopes with different slope height, slope ratio, water contents and filling. Meanwhile, a detailed analysis of the correlation between stability safety factor of a slope and slope height, slope ratio, etc. is conducted combining with the calculated results, after which some comprehensive treatment measures for the slopes of Loess Plateau are provided.
