A Constitutive Model for Sand Incorporating the Effects of Rotation of Principal Stress and State-Parameter-Dependant Dilatancy
Plastic strain caused by the rotation of principal stress is one of the important contributing reasons of wave-induced seabed liquefaction. Based on the generalized plasticity theory, a constitutive model for sand incorporating the effects of rotation of principal stress and state-parameter-dependant dilatancy has been proposed. The new sand constitutive model has been included into the finite element program DIANA-SWANDYNE II to simulate the wave-induced dynamic response of level seabed. The excess pore pressure generation due to rotation of this effect has been investigated in order to validate the new constitutive model
