Recent Developments in Jet Grouting
Jet grouting has been used for soil improvement associated with numerous construction applications since the late 1960s. This technology has reached its present level through advancements in the shape and quality of improved soil. In Japan, where jet grouting was invented by the author, its application is expanding with additional improvements. However, jet grouting, which injects cement into the ground to improve soil properties, has conventionally had a significant impact on the environment. In response, the author has developed a number of new technologies. As a result, jet grouting today requires less energy than in the past and the spoil produced during the grouting can now be reused.
