Coastal Parallel Canals with Intermediate Drains
An investigation is made of the use of a system of parallel fresh-water canals with intermediate drains to reclaim coastal land. The mathematical model of the problem is solved by numerical methods performed on a Burroughs B 5000 electronic computer. The effect of the variation of the ratio of the piezometric head of the canals and that of the drains on land-water ratio and on the interface is plotted to facilitate the application of the theoretical results to practical problems.
