End Depth for Circular Channels
For a fully developed horizontal circular overfall, the ratio of the end depth to the corresponding critical depth for parallel flow has been found to be 0.725. For sloping channels, this ratio varies with the relative slope. The variation of the pressure coefficient for the end section has been studied. A direct solution for predicting the discharge from a known value of the end depth is presented.
