A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
In preparing this paper it has seemed best to present, first, in barest outline, a general picture of the engineering phases of the power plants at Niagara Falls, illustrating their principal characteristics and tracing their development as the art has progressed; next, to discuss some of the newer problems connected with power in the Niagara River; and, finally, to direct attention to the significance of Niagara power in the industrial and social development of two extensive and important territories in two countries. In order to avoid needless repetition, detail descriptions of the plants are not given, but instead a classified bibliography is appended for such further information as may be desired.
