Florida Tampa International Airport Interchange Steel Bridges Design
Tampa international airport interchange consists of two sub-interchanges: Courtney Campbell Causeway (CCC) and Spruce Street/S.R. 60 sub-interchanges. The objective of this paper is to present the unique and economic design of the steel bridges in the CCC sub-interchange. First, a brief description of the whole project is given. Then, a detailed discussion is presented of the most important bridge design issues influencing the selection of the best bridge alternative. Finally, some unique and innovative designs are discussed. The information presented in this paper is of benefit to both the novice and experienced bridge engineers.
