The Main Environmental Geological Problems Caused by Directional Drilling Crossing in the Middle Yangtze River
The middle Yangtze River is about 950km, the bed and two banks of which are composed of loose accumulation horizon of the Quaternary. No-dig directional drilling is suitable for the bed and banks. When drilling in different soil layers, no-dig directional drilling may cause some engineering geological problems as well as environmental geological problems such as collapse crater, ground fissure, piping, environmental pollution. Soil property is the internal cause of environmental geological problems while construction factor the external one. Environmental geological problems could be prevented from happening by both improving the soil property and controlling the construction parameters.
