The Federal Emergency Management Agency recently completed a new draft set of guidelines for coastal flood hazard analysis and mapping on the Pacific Coast of the United States. The project identified needs and prioritized improvements to coastal flood hazard analysis and mapping guidelines for the Atlantic, Gulf, and Pacific Coasts of the United States in Phase 1. In Phase 2, new draft guidelines were produced for use in FEMA's Map Modernization Plan for coastal flood hazard mapping in California, Oregon, and Washington.
