Using Building Energy Simulation to Study Energy Demands of Prefabricated Housing Unit
Building energy consumption forms a significant portion of the total annual energy consumption worldwide. Proposing thermal energy performance improvement strategies accurately, pertaining to real life buildings is a challenge. In this work, a methodology consisting of building energy modelling and simulation of the calibrated energy models is proposed. Validation of energy model is achieved through measured indoor temperature and heating energy demand. For improvement, a parametric study of calibrated model by varying various input parameters (building envelope, weather, set temperature, etc.) is done to get minimized annual energy consumptions.
