A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Achievements in Engineering Education
Engineering education has grown tremendously in stature and importance during the past century. This paper reviews the development of engineering schools, their faculties and curricula, and the forces affecting their progress. Evening programs, graduate study, research, and other factors that have posed problems during the past 100 years are discussed. The relationship between engineering education and the professional societies is described, with emphasis on the formation of various intersociety groups.
