Mechanical Structural Analysis by the Moment Indicator
A new method for the mechanical analysis of models of indeterminate structures is described. This method involves the use of a simple and inexpensive instrument known as the “moment indicator.” A suitable technique for the application of the method to models made of semi-plastic materials like celluloid is described, and the results of measurements on a Vierendeel structure are given. Other applications are suggested.
