Depth-Integrating and Dip Samplers
Comparative tests of depth-integrating and dip samplers were made for fine-grained suspended sediment. Approximately 60% of the suspended load was 2-? and smaller in size. Differences between suspended-sediment concentrations obtained with dip samplers and depth-integrated samplers were statistically significant. Concentrations of depth-integrated samples averaged 1.02% greater than concentrations of dip samples.
