Effects of Poly Vinyl Alcohol Fibers in Fracture Energy of Concrete
Among all of the advantages of concrete elements, improving ductility and energy absorbency has always been a great challenge. This paper reports on an experimental study of the effects of polyvinyl alcohol fibers on fracture energy of concrete and its comparison with steel fiber-reinforced concretes. Energy absorbency of the concrete was measured according to the ACI544 impact test code. Compressive- and impact-resistance of polyvinyl fiber-reinforced concretes were also measured. Stress-strain curve in compressive tests are reported.
