Restoration of Cast and Wrought Iron Bridges
Cast and wrought iron bridges were first used in the early 1840s and were common until shortly after the Civil War when they were replaced by wrought iron bridges and later in the century by steel structures. The restoration of those remaining cast and wrought iron bridges is the subject of this paper.
