Geotechnical Behavior of Shales in the Colombian Andes
Shales and other mudrocks are very common in the Colombian Eastern Mountain Range, where also they are involved in various types of natural and artificial slope instabilities. In this paper the more common geotechnical problems associated with these materials are commented and some historic cases are presented; likewise, the results of characterization research works that are coming up in the country are introduced.
