Planning and Design Aspects of Stormwater Quality Management Practices for Tropical Environments
A new Urban Stormwater Management Manual for Malaysia was completed in 2000 and was mandated for use beginning in January 2001. The manual covers both stormwater quantity and quality management. The latter is new to Malaysia, and it is expected it will take some time for stormwater quality management practices to be implemented by local authorities on a routine basis. The goal of the Manual is to provide guidance to all regulators, planners and designers who are involved in stormwater management. It recognises the need for an effective partnership among all levels of government and industry to achieve desired outcomes for urban communities and the environment.
